Evil Thoughts Throw

This reversible throw featuring the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat is knitted from super-soft baby alpaca and comes in a beautiful custom box for easy gifting. Basquiat (American, 1960 - 1988) is one of the most iconic and influential contemporary artists. His rise to prominence coincided with the 1980s Neo-Expressionist movement, but he is as much known for his earlier street art. Basquiat's work is full of social commentary, illusory symbols and autobiographical references and often blends meaningful imagery from Caribbean, African American, African and Aztec cultures. Skulls, like the one featured on this blanket, are full of symbolism and evoke African masks and Voodoo while also provoking questions about capitalism, nepotism and the important dichotomy between life and death.
