"Colour is really important to me, and quite an important element in my work, and that all resonated from my parents being born in Nigeria and coming to London about 30, 40 years ago... Just seeing how my mum would apply color to her outfits - she did it effortlessly. She didn't think about 'how to', she just applied colour; I'd probably be thinking, oh, does red go with blue? But she would just wear something, and she took hours but she came out and she looked beautiful, you know?"
