Herringbones was first exhibited during Salone del Mobile 2016. To create the effect, pieces of wood are plunged individually into colourful baths of pigments; different layers of dye are applied to the wood at a 45° degree angle to create a colourful herringbone pattern. The Herringbones series is part of Raw Edges’ ongoing experimentation with dye, highlighting the distinct textures and patterns revealed when applied to wooden materials.
