Last of the summer - flying kites

Under a limitless sky on Holkham beach in North Norfolk, we spent the holidays flying kites, building sandcastles and jumping off sand dunes.

Following the pine forest, we walked along Holkham Bay to Wells-next-the-Sea to discover Lucy Lavers, a restored wooden lifeboat who had just returned to the harbour following a historic crossing to Dunkirk.

Lucy Lavers had been part of the original Dunkirk evacuation rescue of 1945 and had been restored just in time to join the channel convoy in 2015, in remembrance of the 75th anniversary.
